In order to ensure the safety of Lauric arginate as a food preservative, VEDEQSA has commissioned a wide range of toxicological studies with the aim of demonstrating that no adverse effects are associated with its ingestion at the intended levels of use. Additional studies have been performed to demonstrate the innocuousness of Lauric arginate when used in cosmetic preparations. The following figure summarises the toxicological results:

The results of the toxicological studies are consistent with the rapid metabolism of Lauric arginate that was elucidated from the rat in vivo and in vitro and human in vitro studies.
